Our Courses

All of our courses are run using a mix of learning styles and using different training aids to make the training fun and memorable. See some of our training aids from the courses we run!

Whilst running an accredited training centre with RSPH and HABC, David teaches subjects including health and safety, food hygiene, risk assessment & haccp in care homes, pubs, restaurants, takeaways, schools, gyms, hotels, bakeries, nurseries and for contract catering companies. Having now trained well over 1000 accredited courses in a range of subjects, David has more than enough experience to make even the most tedious course interesting!

Having a first class honours Environmental Health degree and NEBOSH National General Certificate, David also carries out safety audits in the UK and abroad for national and international Caterers, Retailers, Hotel brands and Restaurant chains.

“After working in catering for 16 years,” says David, “I have sat through many courses – some good, some not so good. Since becoming a trainer I have been determined to make sure that all courses I run are interactive, fun, relevant, and informative, not the ‘very long, boring day’ which some courses can turn into.”

David’s experience includes:

  • 6 years Kitchen Manager and Chef Trainer experience for branded restaurants: setting up, recruiting, training staff and food safety audits for new and existing pub restaurants.
  • 10 years chef experience in care homes, contract catering, restaurants and pubs.

Worthing Pier`s Southern Pavilion has been recently refurbished and wanted some advice on how to achieve a 5 star food hygiene rating. We carried out an audit and provided a report of our findings and an action plan of suggested improvements.

Richard Bradley, Director of Worthing Pier: “We found Ford Training through an internet search and from our initial conversation Dave knew exactly what we were looking for as a new restaurant business. Dave carried out a food hygiene audit, wrote a report with recommendations and priorities and re-visited our premises to discuss his report. We found it easy to follow and logical. Dave also carried out a three hour level 1 award in food safety training session, which the staff found really useful and interesting. We were inspected the following week by EHO and were awarded 5 stars for our food hygiene rating!”
